This historical traditional village stone house was built in the year 1855 and is ideally located close to the coastal resorts of Stoupa and Agios Nikolaos, which offer a fantastic selection of tavernas and restaurants. The property is positioned in the heart of the village, which has a real ‘community’ feel about it and is also offering local tavernas, a bakery and a mini-market.
Entry to the property is through the gated doorway and into a private shaded courtyard complete with a traditional bread oven. At present the courtyard is home to a vegetable plot, mature fruit trees and vines for shade.
The outside areas of the property has been thoughtfully designed and offer plenty of shaded areas on different levels. A private courtyard of this size is rare to find in any of the local villages. A stone staircase from the courtyard lead you up to the first floor which has a spacious balcony, furnished with outside dining table and chairs and lined with colourful potted plants, overlooking the pretty courtyard below. An outdoor shower area and storage room for garden tools are also on this level.
The main house is set on two floors and consists of one bedroom, a bathroom, a utility room and a semi-open kitchen/dining area. The lounge has a sizeable balcony and from here you are met with beautiful sea views.
The property comes also with a self-contained apartment on the ground floor, which could be considered as a second bedroom for the main house, private space for guests staying or potentially a source of rental income. Below the the house is also a wonderful kamara, offering further storage or living space opportunity.
The surrounding Taygetos mountains provide a stunning backdrop. There are a wealth of paths in the area, which take in diverse scenery and provide plenty of opportunities for exploring the local area on foot or bike.
