If you continue along the road from Agios Dmitrios, your journey will take you through an area of extreme natural beauty and eventually to the headland and village of Trachila. The road finishes here and the traveller finds themselves in a traditional greek fishing village, with a lovely old village centre wrapped around a sheltered harbour. Although neglected for a few years this jewel on the Mani coast is now seeing some lovely property restorations and development.
The plot on offer is just outside the village, up above the main road and nestled in the many olive groves that surround the village. Up at an elevated height, with the Chapel of Saint Paraskevi as the backdrop, you have a great view of the Trachila headland, the sea either side and the harbour and the village below. This is an organic olive grove with approximately 30 olive trees, providing more than enough olive oil for a large families annual needs.
Within the village zone, it is permitted to build up to 200m2 and this would give you an equivalent 2 or 3 bedroomed house. Power, Water and Comms are all very close to the site, and a concrete approach road will give good access for construction.
The rugged stone hillsides, shelter the plot from any extreme weather and with no properties nearby, other than the Chapel, the area has a secluded, natural aura about it. Surrounded by olive trees and the wild flowers of the Mani, this really is a beautiful spot in which to build a property. Away from the crowds but only a 10 minute drive to the relatively busy villages of Agios Dmitrios and Agios Nicholoas, where you will find tavernas, kafenions and supermarkets.
