This traditional stone house is situated in the small mountain village of Zaccharia, approximately 6 kilo metres from the picturesque coastal resort of Kardamyli. The owners have started the renovation of the first floor and part of the ground floor. The village is your typical peaceful, traditional community with lovely old buildings and lots of character, and is at an elevation of around 400mtrs above sea level. The property itself borders with the old village chapel and its courtyard. Parking is within 20mtrs of the house. Access to the village is down an asphalted road, which comes off the main Tseria, Kardamyli road.
The first floor consists of a spacious vine covered balcony with a spiral staircase that leads to the flat roof terrace which has probably some of the best views of the Messinian coastline and the Taygetos mountains that you will get in the region. A door from the first floor balcony leads to the open plan lounge and kitchen dining area. A staircase from the lounge leads down to the ground floor where there is a double bedroom which has been tiled and a bathroom.
There is scope for 3 bedrooms eventually. The house would suit someone who would like to live in a traditional mountain village, with much cooler climes in the summer months, and to be able to step out into the Taygetos mountain region for hiking, cycling and other outdoor activities.
The property also comes with 30 olive trees, situated on the edge of the Viros Gorge that runs down to Kardamyli, from where you get some spectacular views of the coast and surrounding country.
